The Light Canvas

Architectural Lighting

The Light Canvas is a Semi-temporary, flexible, scalable lighting solution primarily for architectural application. It consists of a matrix of LED (Light Emitting Diode) RGB ( Red, Green, and Blue) individually addressable nodes, that can be programmed from a control unit enabling multiple content to be displayed. The Light Canvas would be available in a number of pitch sizes dependent upon the requirements of the project. With its flexible and semi-temporary nature, the Light Canvas can be formed around more organic shapes and hung if required. Its application to very wide from Architectural lighting to signage and advertising. The prototype seen here is a P100, meaning it has a pitch of 100mm between each node, in total the prototype features 100 nodes. Each node makes use of a Adafruit Neopixel and the prototype is controlled by a Arduino Uno board.
