Modular injury mask

Modular sports mask for facial injuries

The Modular Injury Mask is a customisable rehabilitative device, for facial injuries sustained during sporting activities such as basketball and football. The mask is designed to support nasal, cheekbone and eye socket fractures, as well as soft tissue damage. Depending upon the severity, the device enables the user to return to their sport sooner, whilst reducing the risk of further injury. The modular structure allows the injury mask to be tailored to particular injuries, specific to an individual user. The ergonomic device can be configured to protect an isolated injured area of the face, according to the user's level of comfort. Unlike current injury masks, the modular device tackles existing issues with ventilation and material breathability. It uses a hybrid of Carbon Fibre and D3O to provide structural strength and integrity, along with Merino Wool to prevent overheating and discomfort whilst this device is worn.
