Designing a video game for the entertainment industry
The final year project is a 2D platform game designed using Unity for the purposes of my final year dissertation. The project was inspired by my placement experience at Nintendo. The game consists of several animated sprites and video game logic to progress the player through one level of the game, offering a bonus level as a reward. The projects artefact serves as a demonstration, showing both technical and artistic skills. The game has been designed for the PC platform, with research into future development platforms. The decision to make the game was built around my placement experience working for Nintendo in Germany, and was built from my passion for video games. I feel the game has been very successful in enhancing my skills. I will take what I've learned from this project, and apply it in my future work.
