Extendable electronic distress flare
People taking part in boating activities at sea regularly fall overboard. Tide and wind cause missing people to drift and results in the need for time consuming searches, increasing the risk of death. There are a number of products designed for this situation and although they are effective in helping SAR services locate a person they have operational flaws and are not designed to be carried on an individual. 95% of users keep a product like this on their vessel but almost none keep them on their persons due to factors such as size and weight. The LifeSafe Flare is an extendable electronic distress flare. It is safer than traditional flares, has a longer illumination time and is visible from 5.5 nautical miles. It also allows the user to keep it on their persons with ease through use of a simple belt clip and lanyard.
