The Nudge Clock

Alarm clock to reduce sleep inertia

In the fast paced world of today, the nudge clock helps to optimise and enhance the mornings by making the transition from dream to day seamless. The nudge clock is a wake device that helps to reduce sleep inertia and reliance on the snooze button in 'night owls'. The wall mounted, Wi-Fi enabled device would wake the sleeper up by gradually increasing the intensity of light and sound shortly before getting up. Once it's time to get up, the light begins to pulsate and a specific song is played. It uses different Spotify playlists, to ensure that the experience is always fresh, and adapts to the morning based on quality and duration of sleep, changing the playlist to match predicted mood. Using this method, users found waking up to be better, starting the day easier and were out of bed, on average, 10 minutes sooner.
