Future Concepts for Scanpan

Renowned Danish cookware company, Scanpan, approached Brunel with a pioneering opportunity to collaborate with their prestigious brand. The success of this collaboration has now paved the way for future Brunel design students to have the honour of working with other large name brands in future. Awarded to the team of students which showed the widest and most proficient skill set, the collaboration focused on taking the brand in a previously unexplored direction. The team was initially invited on a factory visit to Aarhus in Denmark. The incredible craftsmanship and care Scanpan has towards everything they do became quickly apparent, and their passion was infectious.

The new knowledge of the brand values and love for the minimalist Danish design style ultimately influenced the production of the final brand direction, especially the use of the Danish concept of hygge - “a complete absence of anything annoying or emotionally overwhelming; taking pleasure from the presence of gentle, soothing things”.

The team's direction for future concepts of the brand incorporated hygge to create a range of products that would influence the dining atmosphere. The Scanpan Atmosphere range of products have been specifically designed to subtly enhance the five senses and by doing so are able to enhance the atmosphere of every occasion, making it extraordinary.
