Wire Construction Toy
The toys and games industry is worth US$154.7 billion. LEGO is the market leader having a 62.5% share of the construction toy market in 2012; other competitors are K'Nex and Meccano. It was discovered that the property of flexibility was missing from the market, a property that is inherent to wire. Taking into account the importance of using flexibility as the products' unique selling point, XIRO is an engaging wire and rod based construction toy that is fun, inspirational and educational for children aged 6-10 years. The toy uses magnetic connections, a magnetisable dodecahedron hub and a steel base. It is colour coded in order to identify the polarity of the outward facing magnet, with the dodecahedron shape creating a clear product identity. When used, the toy demonstrates a wide range of connection methods and angles that can be made; while creating rotational movements as well.
