JSK100 Job Site Kettle

The JSK100 Job Site Kettle is portable kettle for one, designed in line with the Makita LXT product tool range. The JSK100 is a robust and durable tool, made from glass filled nylon with a TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) over moulding, giving the product identifiable touch points and protection from drops and knocks.

The TPE over moulding was designed with sharp contours and parallel edges to make the product look and feel like a tool. The kettle can boil up to 300ml of water, enough for a standard UK mug.

The JSK100 was developed to assist builders and contractors whilst on sites with no access to electricity, enabling them to have a fresh hot drink without having to down tools and leave to the café or disturb their client by asking them for drink. Portable kettles are available on the market. Most plug into the 12v cigarette socket in a car or van; however the usability and desirability of these products has been poorly designed – with boiling times up to 38 minutes for just one standard mug of water.

Material consideration, component selection and form factors reduced the boiling time significantly, making the JSK100 practical for the user.Makita are an award winning and well established power tool brand.

The JSK100 was developed to fit into the large and diverse Makita cordless lithium ion (LXT) range; from drills and impact drivers, to DAB radios and portable chainsaws. Makita have developed an 18v 5.0 Ah battery with the fastest charging time on the market, just 45 minutes for a full charge.

This battery technology was merged with water heating technology to produce a desirable and efficient battery powered portable kettle.
