Reducing injuries in running
Inertia was designed for recreational running where risk and awareness of injury may not be as well-known or understood as in the professional domain. There are an increasing number of people taking up running, as it is an accessible sport and less costly than others which require clubs for participation or gym membership. The aim of the project was to promote injury awareness and running technique by giving the user the independence that they need whilst providing them with feedback and support when their technique may be compromised. A growing market exists for wearable technology taking advantage of the population's ever-growing want for lifestyle improvement. Inertia takes the technology one step further by offering active support for those wishing to sustain efficient technique or have an increased likelihood of knee injury. Inertia is a future product with market potential once further technological advancement has been developed.
