Behaviour Management Toy for children with High Functioning Autism

Spectrum is a product aimed at helping 7-11 year olds with High Functioning Autism to reduce their anxiety and agitation levels, whilst helping them manage their behaviour. Children with high functioning autism struggle with changes in situations, and are often left feeling anxious or agitated. Spectrum is a wearable product that uses LEDs and 3D images to calm a child down. The product is designed to be used before, during or after stressful situations that may make a children feel anxious or agitated. The product is placed in front of the user's eyes, showing them pictures and taking them away from the situation. Extensive research was undertaken with end users, parents, teachers and experts, who all had a great interest in the product and concept, to gain better knowledge on High Functioning Autism and to test out the feasibility and viability of the product. The feedback highlighted the problem and the demand for this product in the disability market.
