A sharing warehouse
Shetosha' stands for a 'Shed to Share'. The project is about building a physical place that enables individuals to share their items more systematically. There is a growing demand for storing personal items that users do not frequently use. The basic concept for this project is to let people earn money by creating a depot that allows people to borrow and share these unused products. The design is intended to break away from the stereotype of modern consumption culture, empathising with the bartering system which is symbolised in the arch design, giving the impression of a traditional library or church. The system mimics the lending and returning of library systems, and like big retail enterprises such as Ikea and Costco, it has a warehouse layout allowing direct borrowing.
