New Dental Implant
In dental implants, effective stress establishes the grade of osseointegration between bone and implant. If this stress goes above the restricted amount, fracture and consequently failure occurs. On the other hand, lack of stress between bone and implant will lead to implant release. Dental implants are mostly screw shape and made of Titanium. The end of a dental implant determines how the manufacturer has approached the provision of osseintegration between bone and implant. In this project, instead of using threads which are the most common design format for dental implants, lockers have been used to observe the distribution of stress within a human jawbone. Lockers can keep residual stress generated from the primary torque for screwing down the implant. This study is based on FEA and pull out test on sawbones and sheep jaw bone. In order to evaluate the designs, all of these steps are repeated for Branemark implant system.
