Giving CPAP users control

Sleep apnoea is a condition that causes interrupted breathing during sleep. When the muscles in the throat collapse to cause blockage of the airway, a lack of oxygen causes disturbances to a person's sleep. The most common treatment is the CPAP machine. There is a need to empower users of the CPAP machine to feel in control of their condition and treatment, and to give them a better understanding of what is happening when they sleep. This system has been designed to give feedback and a feeling of reassurance to CPAP users that their treatment is working. The system includes a pulse oximeter, CPAP machine and an app. The app is the main form of feedback that the users will receive. It is the first and last thing they look at every day.
