Experimental analysis of a PVT collector

Experimental analysis of a PVT collector which produces electricity and heat from a single panel. The aim of the project was to build a testing station to characterise the performance of a photovoltaic-thermal collector (PVT). The rig had to be designed to measure both thermal and electrical performance and this was achieved through the use of synchronised data-loggers. Using this information, we characterised the performance of the collector under different operating conditions. The project involved the comparison of two different designs of collector; a serpentine and a parallel design. These were also designed and manufactured as part of the project. The testing station was constructed with future student research in mind, and all aspects are fully customisable.
