The “Autonomous, Intelligent Robot with Fuzzy Logic Operation” (A.I.R.F.L.O.) is a vacuum cleaner designed to revolutionise the way household robots map and clean the home environment. Commercial robotic vacuum cleaners are seen to be difficult to use and very inefficient at cleaning different surfaces. A.I.R.F.L.O. was designed to be a cheaper, user friendly alternative, capable of cleaning more dynamically and efficiently. With the use of fuzzy Logic for dust detection and surface type recognition, the robot is able to adjust its suction power, saving a large amount of energy and increasing battery life. A.I.R.F.L.O. performs intelligent mapping of the room allowing the robot to take the most efficient route; saving both time and power. A.I.R.F.L.O. is for people with little time on their hands who wish to be in a clean environment. A team of multidisciplinary engineers designed and built the robot from the ground up, following extensive testing.
