Arced

Arced is a laser light system for increasing the visibility of urban cyclists. Cyclists have expressed more and more concern over their safety while riding in urban areas. The research suggests that most collisions occur from the front of a cyclist, this would be a motor vehicle turning across them, or pulling out in front of them. This system aims not only to make cyclists more visible in those situations, but to make the cyclists feel safer while riding at night. The design features five arced laser projections, surrounding the cyclist in a virtual bubble. These are designed to extend the cyclists visible footprint, so they become more visible in vulnerable situations where a motorist's view is limited. It is designed to be quick to put on and take off, waterproof and durable. The inner part of the light can be squeezed out to allow access to a USB charging port. The system is designed to be super-easy to use, a firm on-off switch prevents accidental use and keeping unused features to a minimum keeps costs down.
