Addressing Non-Adherence within Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation
Non-adherence is an issue across healthcare, and to address it would considerably reduce public spending and increase population well-being. Initially focused on achieving behavioural change within musculoskeletal rehabilitation, through a deepened understanding of the causes of non-adherence, the project developed a focus on rehabilitation of the knee. The main aim was to improve user engagement through application of telemedical models and gamification theory. By working with experts within the field, alongside current and past patients, a series of validated models were proposed, supported by a modular user experience and proof of principle prototype.
