Teaching children the optimal writing grip through thermochromics
Learning to write is a key stage of a child's motor development, with over 1.3 million children progressing through the pen grip development process yearly. Up to 50% learn compensatory grips, which cause slower writing speed and rapid fatigue. Trigrip is mechanical pencil which subtly promotes the optimal grip. The large diameter helps to reduce the risk of compensatory grips occurring. The symmetrical form allows children to maintain the optimal wrist position during use, making the experience more comfortable. The product's grip zone is coated in thermochromic technology. When gripped, the initial zone colour turns clear and revealing the children's fingertips locations. The pattern revealed highlights the optimal finger positioning, allowing children to compare their existing pattern and make changes.
