Solar Powered Shower for Refugee Camps
The Solar Shower is specifically designed to combat the issue if poor hygiene in refugee camps. The facilities utilise Powerweave; a cutting-edge textile material that converts solar energy into electrical energy. The generated energy powers the filter and pump systems of the shower, thus providing the user with clean water, privacy and reduces the risk of recontamination. Implementation of the Solar Shower would have a tremendous impact on the refugee camps as hygiene standards will rise and the spread of disease can be kept to a minimum. Seeing as it only requires a proportion of the waer usually required, the users will also save on their daily water ration. The grey water produced by the showers will be used to water a nearby plantation, which in turn provides the users with nutritious plants that they can either consume or sell to generate an income for the community.
