Active Suspension Control Testing

Active Suspension Control Testing

Development of Test Rig

This project involves the development of an active suspension test rig in order to evaluate and improve methods of control.

The rig is based on a quarter-car suspension model and is similar to that of a passive suspension system, but with the addition of an actuator which applies a reactive force in response to excitation i.e. bumps and potholes in the case of a real car.

The ultimate aim is to improve the road handling and ride comfort of the vehicle.
