BX-11 Electric Racing Motorcycle

BX-11 Electric Racing Motorcycle

For the 2011 TT Zero Event, Isle of Man

The principal objectives of the project were to design, manufacture, build and race the BX- 11 at the 2011 TT Zero event held during the famous Isle of Man TT. The TT Zero, an event for zero emissions vehicles is now in its second year and is attracting competitors from around the world and will be broadcast globally.

The team have focused the design upon a Triumph Daytona 675 donor chassis and redesigned the power and drive train, structures and control systems. Models were also developed to simulate various configurations of an electric motorcycle in order to adapt, dependent on their operational environment. This was based upon minimising the lap time of various tracks including the TT Mountain Course.
