Clean. Earn Points. Get Reward
Imagine role play meets Nando's grilled chicken reward scheme meets reality, using this analogy 'happy clean' is a project create to encourage children to help with household chores. Personality development continues from birth to maturity and the aim was to assist this through the use of a product that improves parent child interaction. Children are often reluctant to contribute to parents' workload due to the associated perception of boredom and tedium. 'Happy clean' bridges this gap by introducing interactive features to a conventional mop to add interest for young people. An in-built timer records the time the child spends with the product and the points earned. Additionally, the timer can be used to set a target time within which the child should complete an activity in order to earn extra points. All data is stored within 'happy clean' and once connected to a computer, the kids, in accordance to the points scored, may choose from rewards offered by parents, such as toys, clothes, treats and so on. The child develops a sense of gratitude towards the parent, positive associations with housework, and the parent can appreciate the responsibility developed by the child in their formative years.
