My time as a Brunel Design student has been an inspirational and enjoyable experience. Working at MERU designing bespoke products for disabled children greatly influenced my final year project. I find work in this field fulfilling and valuable. It has challenged me to be creative and innovative to maintain a strong focus on the end user’s specific needs. My major project has inspired me to explore my design capabilities and further develop my passion for designing innovative products for specialist needs.
Kinderpendence is a portable toilet support for children with minor disabilities. Folding easily into a portable carry case, the toilet support can be carried by the child themselves. Kinderpendence was developed to give disabled children greater independence, a fundamental aspect of growing up for all children.
